Its vinyl preparation section prohibits a color darker than the original or with a Light Reflective Value below 56 unless VinylSafe colors are used. It also requires following the vinyl manufacturer painting guidelines and properly installed siding. The 56 figure belongs to this sheet; it is not a universal vinyl rule. Read the sheet together with the current manufacturer color collection, then have the supplier confirm the exact formula for the specified product.

Keep the supplier confirmation and tint label with the approved selection. If the client changes shade, sheen, product, or supplier, reopen the approval. A photo of a dark house or the same color name on another can does not identify the mixture going onto this wall. If panel identity or siding instructions are unavailable, state that limitation and obtain a defensible specification before treating the bid as ready to apply.

Do not use color approval to clear damaged panels

Record existing bows, ripples, loose areas, and repairs before quoting the repaint. Distinguish sound panels from panels needing a siding assessment; do not promise that the coating will correct distortion. The substrate decision affects the scope and client expectations before it affects the crew date.

A test area can support the preparation process required by the specified system, but this guide does not define a test that predicts long-term thermal behavior. Follow manufacturer instructions for the actual panels and coating. Do not invent an acceptable surface-temperature ceiling or a universal light-reflectance-value cutoff from a general online chart.

Measure the actual surface and material conditions and inspect the planned work area; hourly air temperature does not measure a sun-exposed panel.

Plan the elevation when the required conditions can hold through the work. If sunlight reaches the active area earlier than expected, reassess that area instead of relying on the morning reading. Also check the product's moisture, dew-point, precipitation, and follow-up requirements in its current sheet. A suitable formula does not waive any of them.
